Asteriski’s members have access to two spaces: the office and Nukkuma. The board member responsible for facilities, tilat[ät]asteriski.fi, is in charge of the comfort, maintenance, and services of the spaces.
Office
The Asteriski’s office is located at the north end of the Agora basement. The office space is shared with Digit ry, the student association for information technology students at the University of Turku. As a member, you are free to visit the office during its opening hours and use its services.
The office is open daily from 7 am to 1 am, unless otherwise stated. Overnight stays are strictly prohibited! If you are not yet a member, the office is open when other members are present or during board duty hours, which you can find in the event calendar.
Services at the Office
The office offers many services that are freely available to members. Use of the services is at your own risk, and when using them, you must also take other visitors to the office into consideration.
What can you do at the office?
- Study at the desks or on the sofas.
- Use the monitors at the workstations.
- Enjoy complimentary coffee.
- Buy snacks and drinks from the kiosk.
- Store your own food in the refrigerator and heat it up in the microwave.
- Play board games or borrow them to take home.
- You watch movies or YouTube.
- You play video games on your computer (Steam) and on PlayStation or Xbox consoles.
- You use office supplies and borrow a calculator for exams.
When a board member is present, you can also take care of your membership matters or buy Asteriski’s merchandise.
Nukkuma
You can find Nukkuma on the ground floor of Q-Talo in Ylioppilaskylä. The space is managed by Asteriski ry, Digit ry, and Nucleus ry.
The space is available for rent, free of charge to members of the organizations! The space can be used for events such as movie nights with friends, but despite its name, overnight stays are not permitted for fire safety reasons. If you are interested in renting the space, please contact the Householding Coordinator.
