Taas on se aika vuodesta, kun opiskelijoiden kova työ huipentuu wapun juhlintaan ja perinteisesti ominaisena osana sitä on Polkuauto Grand Prix! Näihin kieseihin ei tarvita avaimia, vaan neljä (4) reipasta polkijaa, sekä kuuden (6) hengen varikkotiimi saattamaan (juottamaan) kuskimme voittoon! Nämä vuoden nopeimmat ja hurjimmat kisat järjestetään Turun Varvintorilla 23.4.2026. Kisojen ensimmäinen lähtö ajetaan klo 16:30, mutta varikkotiimin, sekä kuskien on syytä olla paikalla jo viimeistään klo 15:30.
Kuskien tehtävänä on siis ajaa polkuautolla radan läpi ja tyhjentää valitsemansa tankkausneste mahdollisimman nopeasti. Varikkotiimiläiset tukevat kuskeja suorituksessaan kannustaen ja avustaen tankkauksessa sekä kuljettajien vaihdossa. Edustustiimiläiset pääsevät jatkoille ilmaiseksi ja saavat nauttia VIP-oikeuksista jatkoilla. Tapahtuma-alue sulkeutuu viimeistään kello 22:00, ja ilta jatkuu jatkoilla Night Club Marilynissä.
Ilmoittautuminen joukkueeseen alkaa pe 10.4. klo 14.00 ja ilmoittautumaan pääset tästä. Huomaathan, että paikat joukkueeseen jaetaan nopeusjärjestyksessä, joten jo ilmoittautuminen testaa vauhdikkuuttasi.

It’s that time of year again when students’ hard work culminates in wappu celebrations, and traditionally a characteristic part of it is the Pedal Car Grand Prix! These rides don’t need keys, but four (4) energetic pedalers and a six-person (6) pit crew to escort (and hydrate) our drivers to victory! This year’s fastest and wildest races will be held at Varvintori in Turku on 23.4.2026. The first race starts at 16:30, but the pit crew and drivers should be present no later than 15:30.
The drivers’ task is to pedal the car through the track and empty their chosen refueling beverage as quickly as possible. The pit crew supports the drivers in their performance by cheering and assisting with refueling and driver changes. Team representatives get free entry to the afterparty and enjoy VIP privileges there. The event area closes at 22:00 at the latest, and the evening continues at the afterparty at Night Club Marilyn.
Registration for the team opens Fri 10.4. at 14:00 and you can register from here. Please note that spots on the team are given in order of registration speed, so even signing up tests your quickness.
If spectator sports are more your thing, come to the stands to cheer team-Asteriski to victory!
